Marks: on back - "Made in France" set in between raised horizontal ridges and with an embosed central circlular medalion with a chicken with "C" and "F" on either side and the words "Marque De Frabrique" and "Desvres"

Thickness: 5/16"
Clay Body: Tan-buff
Comment: Desvres has been making pottery since 1800. Because of the mechanical stamping of this tile blank, it is probably from the late 19th C, or even early 20th C.
